Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received the following email at work and was a little hesitant to reply to it. It just didn't feel right, felt too good to be true. $200 a week to drive around and $50 for gas, paid weekly. But I ended up emailing them anyways just to get more information. After a few emails "Thomas" made me feel a little better about the job. I did notice a few emails were sent at very weird hours but maybe they are another time zone? Another thing was how I was supposed to get paid and pay to get my car wrapped. They are supposed to send me a check with the initial $200 plus $50 for the first week pay, plus extra to pay to get the car wrapped. And they only accept Cash app/Zelle, Target gift card or money order which is odd for a "business".

I will not be depositing the check and following through with this "job opportunity" Please reach out to me if you need copies of the emails sent back and forth. It also worries me that I received it through a work email that it didn't get it sent out to students that might not catch these red flags.

I informed you earlier you will be paid $250 as well as $50 for gas each week but for the first week.The payment would be coming with your weekly pay as well as additional funds to provide the Specialist who is coming to put the decal/wrap on your car. All you have to do is to deposit the check.

Once the check is available, we will match you with an available specialist and you will send the the additional fund coming with your first pay check to the specialist and then we can discuss what day you will be available for them to come get the job done.
