Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I Texted them and told them a friend said I should contact them. They text back and said they need my full name, so I gave them my full name, (James Francis Pink). Not even 30 seconds later I received a text, Congratulation your name is still available on our list here. We will need to confirm some information before we can deliver your winning money to you in your home address.
This was the information they asked for, Full names, Gender, Full Address, Date of Birth, Email, Phone number, Occupation, Do you own/rent a house, Do you prefer cash or Cheque. Thinking this is a classmate of mine, and coming from a class of only 42, I could trust him. I have never in my live ever talked to or dealt with my classmate before this time.
They told me that my winning money is $150,000.00 dollars, and before they would deliver me this I am required to pay for the shipping and certification fee which is $1000.00 for the delivery of your winning money to your doorstep. They would come and pick up the money, which had to be cash, and then 7 hours later I would receive the $150,000.00 dollars.
I felt very uneasy giving cash, so at 2:05 am on the 10th of July, 2018 I sent a message to cancel everything. There was another person from my home town that had sent a few texts also. His name is Allen Wire. Before I got thinking this could be a scam, I told my classmate and the other gentleman from my home town of, Argyle, Wisconsin I was going to do. Allen Wire told messenger me about a month ago. But I did nothing about it, until my classmate contacted me. Right after I said that Allen Wire Removed me from Messenger. When I decided I did not want to do this, he tried to reconnect with me.
The whole process took about 30 minutes.
Please, let me know if I need to do something with my bank, or anything else.
