I received a message yesterday on my landline. The message stated to call back. The caller was Gary Cantrell Deputy Inspector. He mentioned Department of Health and Human Services. Criminal activity on my Social Security number. I called back 202-970-1863. They said it is the office of the Inspector General. Gary Cantrell answered. When I called him back he knew my entire Social Security number. He said let me look it up. Stated there has been criminal activity. Something about drugs. My Government benefits and tax return would be cut off. I already received my tax refund. He did not ask for personal information or money. He asked if I had a criminal attorney. I said no. He said you better get one. The call disconnected. I have been the victim of identity theft in the past.
