An individual walked up to my elderly father when he was working in his yard. After talking to him for a short time the individual offered to do driveway repairs for my father for $500. My father agreed and when the job was completed he told my father that due to unexpected expenses the price was actually $2000. There was no contract and no bill. After he was paid and when asked for an itemized list of supplies as evidence for the increase in cost the individual produced a Quote for Supplies from Home Depot that was dated well past the time that the work had been completed. The list of supplies had nothing to do with driveway repairs (for example the most expensive supply was 18.9 litre pail of premium plus ultra exterior satin pain - 4 pails, total cost of $1,115.48).
