Dermalactives Reports & Reviews (2)

Dermalactives is a booth in Fashion Place mall. The person talked me into coming over, put some crap on my hands, and tried to sell me their lotion for $199! I said no. She ended up going down to $20 for the lotion. I said ok, and as I looked through my cash, she reached in and grabbed a $20! Then after I left, I looked into my bag. She put 2 dinky bars of stinky soap in my bag. No lotion. I feel fortunate I didn't give her a credit card. I read they are charging $2019 on cards, instead of $219. I am so frustrated. Why would Fashion Place allow a ruthless scam artist business like that!

- Orlando, FL, USA

The Dermalactives skincare salesman at the January 2019 Orlando Home Show in the Orlando Convention Center used sleazy sales tactics to get me to purchase 2 lotions without telling me the final cost. He used a tiny cellphone with a tiny square attachment to ring up my credit card sale -- I could not read/see the amount and the cellphone could not produce a Sales Receipt. I thought I was paying $40 but when I saw my credit card statement I was shocked: $4200 plus another $319 charge! I quickly called Chase Visa and they gave me the merchant's number. Elizabeth Diaz at Persona (represents Dermalactives) in Miami FL told me that I could not return any items: No Refunds and No Exchanges after 14 days. Diaz said she did not have an itemized invoice for any items I had purchased. I tried to have Chase Visa Disputes help me but they said they could not help me because they had "Square" online receipts with my signature for those amounts. Although I said I did not sign for those amounts, Chase declined to help or intervene with the merchant. I believe this is in violation of the 2018 Senior Safe Act because Chase Visa Fraud should have flagged such a transaction (the huge amount was clearly out of character with my purchasing history) and declined to authorize the transaction until contacting me to verify. If Chase Visa had contacted me, I would have been made aware of the huge amount and I would never have made the purchase. I am an elderly retired senior citizen and I believe this whole Dermalactives sales technique was Elder Fraud.
