I looked for breeders of mini dachshunds who had puppies available. I chose my puppy from pictures on the web site and learned the breeder lived in Ft. Myers, FL. It appeared there was an umbrella company, Destiny Dachshunds, with small family breeders all over the country. I bought a 10 week old puppy for $600 and also paid $200 for their fancy shipping program. The money was sent via wire transfer “Zelle”. She was confirmed on a flight to arrive in Detroit at 6:15 Friday. One half hour before the flight was to leave I got an urgent e-mail from "Best Pet Movers" that I needed to send $1250 for Health Insurance and that money would be 100% refunded to me with the delivery of the puppy. She was being “held by the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Husbandry (U.S. Government) because it is illegal for a pet to be moved across borders without a valid Health Insurance Certificate”. Thank goodness I had trouble sending the $1250. I admitted to myself I was scammed
