And was asked about his disability status, income, full name and address.
He forwarded me the information below, which seemed suspicious:
I HAVE GOTTEN AN APPROVAL THAT YOU'RE ELIGIBLE AND QUALIFIED TO BE GRANTED THE DHHS GIVE AWAY GRANT FUND AS YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR IT WITHOUT PAYING IT BACK. CONGRATULATIONS MR [Full Name] YOUR INFORMATION HAS ALSO BEEN FORWARED TO THE FEDEX DELIVERY MEN TO VERIFY AND CONFIRM YOUR DATA WHEN DELIVERING YOUR MONEY TO YOU. DO YOU WANT US TO CONTINUE WITH NEXT STEP OF YOUR DHHS GRANT MONEY?
Then he was asked for a cc number to pay the $500 delivery fee
All this was via text to the number above.
Instead of stopping the engagement with them, he suggested they take the $500 out of the total grant.
By this time I had told him I saw this on ScamPulse.com and I am sure he thinks he’s out -witting them. He said he did not receive a response to this message.
My husband called the number from his office land line and received a recorded message saying : “The text number you have dialed is not available. Please leave a message after the beep”
I am in Florida & my dad is in Louisiana- he was telling me about this via text. My dad is 78
