I thought I had a HP support tech. He told me my pc had been infected by many viruses and he could get running smoothly for 150.00 + tax, this was for 1 year +tax. I became suspicious when he wanted a check instead of a credit card. Told him I would check with the ScamPulse.com first but I had already given him my name and address and phone#. Needless to say, he did not call me back.

On Computer contacted HP Instant Ink or so I thought. Chat box immediately popped up and after a couple preliminary questions, she said technician would be calling me right away. Which he did. We talked about my problem and he asked if he could have remote access to my computer which I have done with HP before. So we did that and then we spent about 75 minutes on the phone. He told me my printer could not be fixed right now because there was a Trojan virus on my computer which had corrupted the printer drivers and so he would need to scrub my computer first and then we could install the print drivers again. So he proceeded to do so and then said that he could not reinstall the printer drivers because of the virus damage so they needed to install a security you know fire wall kind of thing and then we would see what happened. Did that still couldn't fix printer. Agreed to send me a new printer and to let him know when it arrived in 5-7 business days and he would hook it up for me remotely. SAID IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, NOT TO TOUCH THE PC MAX PRIVACY SHIELD icon until the printer arrived and I called him back. Wrote him a check for $299.99 payable to Dial My Squad for the privacy shield protection. Hung Up and promptly called the bank and stopped payment on the check and called home number for HP and was told they NEVER contract with outside companies to work on their products. Starting process of changing all bank, credit cards, etc. and praying for the best outcome possible.
