No license number to be found. I called the vendor to request their business license number and they hung up on me. I reached out to our property manager to ask if this is the correct vendor because it is a conflict of interest to have board members use their businesses for HOA contracted work. He confirmed that that is the vendor that the HOA uses for all roofing and other water damage related issues. In addition to this so-called vendor being owned by the board president, the vendor representative who I spoke with on the phone shares the same last name as another HOA board member.
I asked for a business license # and the management company sent me a business license number (851588 ) but it was for a company of that same name but located in Bakersfield. Not the same company as the one listed on the work order. I let the property manager know that that business license does not correspond to this vendor and could they please send me the business license number. I have not heard from the property management company since my request. I reached out to the vendor to schedule an appointment and asked them to please provide their business license number so that I can confirm that they are licensed bonded and insured before coming onto my property. I said this is a safety measure and standard protocol for any contractors who come into my house. Three times my request was ignored. The vendor showed up while the city was working on removing the trees and while I was talking to some neighbors. The vendor and another man tried to enter my property through the backyard. I stopped them to inquire who they were, and they introduced themselves as the vendor and the board president. I asked for verification of their business license or a business card or any other documentation to show their credentials. They refused. I told him they could not come onto my property without showing me this information, and that I would bring this up at the next HOA meeting. I asked if the business is in Newhall or at the address of the Board President, and they said "both." I asked if the business operated out of Bakersfield and they said no. The city workers and 3 neighbors were witness to this entire including the vendor and board president shouting at me that I was being ridiculous. The vendor yelled at me and said I was "one of those kinds of women who don't know when to shut up." They proceeded to leave my property. I memorialize this conversation and sent it to the property manager. Attached is the work order sent to me by the property management company.
