I found this company on the internet when I was searching for IT help. It seemed like a legit company at first, they helped me with what I needed. They sold me a "managed IT services" package for $419.00 on 6/17/22 and sent documentation of what was purchased, etc. Last week I started receiving calls from "Mark" indicating that I am supposed to call them every four to five months so they can run a security check on my computer. I had not been told this previously. Mark also told me they had been receiving notifications of security issues on my computer. Their website indicates 24/7 service but no one answered when I called and the message said they were closed. This happened three or four times the night I tried to call. Mark called and left messages several times. When I spoke with him he needed access to my computer using Zoho assist. About 10 mins after I gave him access he called back and the number came up as "spam risk", this was my first indication that this was a scam. He proceeded to show me a file he had "found" on my computer that was a risk but as "my security guy" he was going to to take care of me and delete the file. After that he tried to sell me a SSL certificate that would protect my WiFi from being hacked. He also asked me several questions such as "do you watch movies online", etc. It sounded suspicious so I ended the call and access to my computer and said I would call back. I then contacted my internet provider and was told that an SSL certificate had nothing to do with WiFi. Fortunately, I don't keep any passwords or identifying information on my computer and they were not able to access anything that I can tell. I have closed my cards out of an abundance of caution. I have run malware scans several times and my computer keeps coming up clean so I feel like things are ok in that regard. I feel like such a dummy to even fall for this and I don't want anyone else to fall victim to it as I did. I have documentation of all emails and two voicemails received and am happy to provide them if needed but I can't get them to upload here.
