Ad was posted on Facebook Marketplace for shipping containers, with very nice pictures and description. Upon contact was advised by the Facebook account that they were doing business as Direct Sea Box out of Springfield, MO and that if I was interested to request a quote. I checked the website, which is very professional looking and felt comfortable that it looked very legitimate. I did request a quote. A very professional emailed quote from an @directseabox domain arrived promptly. I placed the order and then received an invoice from an email with domain name of @getinvoicesimple.com, which I assumed was their payment service. I paid the invoice with my credit card and soon received a shipping document (again, very professional looking) from a @directseabox domain that containers were picked up and expected delivery date. I became suspicious because they never asked for my phone number or any details about arrangements for the delivery. I tried calling the phone number on their website multiple times and was immediately disconnected. I could never get through after multiple attempts at different times of the day. After the delivery date passed, I emailed their website email and received a response that the truck had mechanical difficulties and was broken down in Indianapolis, IN. After more research I found examples of people having similar experiences and realized it was not going to be delivered.
