Just had a call from scammer posing as DirecTV offering a special promotion-all channels for $33/mo. Plus internet (we have bundle internet and DirecTv) for $15/mo. Great savings. Deal supposed to be connected to eBay somehow. Only catch was must pay for 2 years up front and the offer available for only "today". They played all the usual waiting sounds and music as Directv does. I called Direct while Wayne on phone with promotion guy. Direct guy said no such promotion available; Don't give them any information. Back with the scammer, I led him on just to see how he was going to get my money. Asking him how I needed to pay. He said something about not paying him, eBay was going to send me a gift card for $100 (my gift for paying within 2 hours), then I would call the number he gave me (same one he was calling from) give them the confirmation number he gave me, scratch off the gift card????, then pay $1100. I couldn't understand his foreign accent or the process but knew enough for me to say I'm not interested and goodbye.
