I had been having constant phone calls from someone saying they were with the Promotion Dept. at Directv. Each time they called I was busy so they continued to call me (on my cell #). I finally spoke with the person, who had a strong middle eastern accent, and he advised me that with the promotion my Directv monthly payment would be cut by $100.00 monthly for the next two years. He also informed me that I would be receiving the movie premium channels also for two years at no extra cost. If I paid the required amount of two months in advance, I would also receive a $100 Visa gift card.

I asked if there was anything in writing on this deal that could be sent to me. He said no but offered to let me talk to his supervisor. She sounded young and also mid eastern. She basically verified everything he said, but then told me that my two month advance payment needed to be made with an EBay gift card. She said this was because this promotion was a collaboration between AT&T, Directv and EBay. They were helping promote the EBay gift card and thus asking for such payment. I was given a promotional Code and told to call their billing dept (888-910-3772 ext 1) when I was ready to pay (within 24 hrs.). They had my name, address and phone #.
