USPS mail pretending to be from my county's district court containing a supposed check. The envelope contained a warning about tampering, citing a federal statue, to make it look even more official. The information inside with the check also referred to the county district court: "Our disbursement review of previously released funds related to MN - Ramsey County District Court Case No. [Redacted for Privacy]" and then a dollar amount. It gave the 800# and a reference number. The check says they are accredited by the Better Business Bureau! It is signed by Doug Appleton. At the bottom in very small type it says *Check Simulation.
