I have received multiple phone calls from several spoofed local phone numbers, the latest of which was around 12:45pm August 13. As is the norm, a recorded message played informing me my electric company had overcharged me and asking me to press one to get a refund and reduce my electric bill. Despite me knowing it's a scam, and because I was curious what they would say, I pressed one to speak to a representative. I was connected to a male with a foreign accent. He asked me how I was, identified himself, asked to speak with the person in charge of paying the electric bill, and said he was from "Discount Power Company." Unfortunately the call got cut off just after that exchange, so I wasn't able to get any more information on what he was trying to sell or get from me.

I have tried to talk to these guys before and they couldn't tell me the name of my power company, nor could they provide me information a legitimate company would have. I have asked repeatedly to be taken off their call list. I still get multiple calls a week from these guys and similar scam callers every week, despite being on the national do-not-call registry and demanding to be removed from their call lists.
