My wife called Dish and they said it was a scam and that they were getting a lot of calls for the same thing. They are using the customer service phone number for Dish and Dish said that this number is for incoming calls only not out going. Dish does not charge for upgrade software on the boxes at all. Canceled my cc and am in the process of disputing the amount I got charged.
Dish said if you get a call like this tell them you are going to call dish and ask them if they are doing a software upgrade. They said if they do work for Dish that they would understand.
