Received a letter stating that I "did not receive information on the affordable, state-regulated Mortgage Protection Plan...". There is no company name or information in this letter. The only name is on the return envelope. The letter adds in a small note that, "Loan information obtained from public records."

How do I know this is a scam? Because we don't have a mortgage on the house we just purchased. We have never had a mortgage of any type.

Additionally, since I do not have a mortgage, what information do they have access to that supports their claim that I "did not receive information"?
