I was contacted for a job for which I did not apply; nor had I ever heard of the company. The initial contact was via email ( no signature line/address/phone) but the email included a link to an application form and a website. Upon completion of the form, someone called me the same day who only offered their name I thought that was odd and when I asked who they were within the company they seemed to falter before providing a title/role. They asked some preliminary questions of me then told me I could be interviewed the next day. They also advised that a video interview via ***** or ***** was not possible because of technical difficulties on their end that could not be resolved soon so instead, they requested I click a link to download and correspond with them throughout the entire interview/onboarding process via their instance of a chat app called Telegram. I never saw their faces. During the interview the following day, I inquired about the job's title and what the duties entailed because the email basically only required US citizenship, proficiency with the English language and the ability to process customer payments and that the job was 100% remote. The response I got was someone else would contact me in a few days to provide the training which would also give me details about the job. And oh by the way, I was hired so long as I passed their identity check. So before ending the call, they convinced me to take a photo of myself holding my government issued ID and a piece of paper with the day's date on it and send it to them to prove my identity and to also provide them with my banking information -- supposedly as part of the onboarding process -- so they could pay me. They even provided a .PDF attachment to serve as an example of what my photo should include. They advised I would be in training for 4 weeks for which I'd be paid but not until after the 4 week training was completed. When the trainer who identified himself as a manager, reached out to me via Telegram chat two days later, I was asked to locate and share ten, bit-coin ATMs in my area as a test to see how well I could navigate the Internet/follow directions. He then shared a link to a video explaining how bit-coins ATMs work and asked me to watch it while still connected to the chat app and to simply send him a message when I was done. That is when the light-bulb came on and I started connecting the dots. This was a non-US company that wanted a US citizen to perform financial exchanges for them. I asked if the nature of the job would involve me handling/exchanging money using bit-coin ATMs in my area. He confirmed it was. While he had me on chat thinking that I was still reviewing a video on how to use a bit-coin ATM, I was really on the phone in another room with my bank reporting the incident and canceling the account information that I'd provided them as well as contacting my credit card monitoring service. I ended the chat session then sent them an email advising I was no longer interested in pursuing the job opportunity.

Apply for a job online with do-Lion, only to find out that it was a scam. I was told that 3700 would be deposited into my account and I was to withdraw the funds and go to a bitcoin atm and send the funds to a client. This is when I realized that I had been scammed. I was to sign into Skype every day to receive request for transfers. .
