Doberman Paw Palace Reports & Reviews (1)

- Lawrenceville, GA, USA • Dec 08, 2024

After coming across the website on Nov 29th or 30th, https://dobermanpawpalace.com/, via the website, an inquiry was submitted regarding three Doberman puppies to see if any of them were still available. The individual, who later identified as Thomas Martin, responded by stating that one of the puppies, Brown, was still available, and provided several additional photos of the puppy. Correspondance continued via email in which Thomas said that the puppy cost $700 and would be an extra $200 for shipping, a total of $900. The price was agreed upon. During the correspondence back and forth, Thomas advised acceptable forms of payment would be Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Zelle. Once the price and details were agreed upon, the sales contract, and the payee information were provided, I attempted to submit payment for the $900 via Google Pay only to discover that Google Pay was no longer valid in the US to send payments to individuals. Thomas was informed of this and he provided new contact information to pay via Zelle. Being that the contact information for both Google Pay and Zelle was different from Thomas's information, I inquired why he had so many different payee contacts. He stated that because he was a family business he had several people receiving payments for him. However being that this was a new recipient, Zelle would not allow more than $500 to be paid to the recipient. I informed Thomas of this and said we would send only $400 to which he agreed. The following day, Thomas contacted me early to see if I had sent the additional $500. I stated I had not and that I wanted to receive the shipping details before submitting the final payment. There was even a phone conversation due to his persistence to receive the additional payment. He agreed to send all of the shipping details. On Thursday, Dec. 5th, after reaching back out to Thomas to see where the shipping information was, he provided the shipping details. I had also requested an updated photo of the puppy. He provided a video of a puppy. I then attempted to submit the additional $500, but my bank would not process the Zelle transaction, which I had never experienced before. I notified Thomas and he provided me with yet another contact for payment. I then took a closer look at the video and determined that this was not the same puppy as it did not have the same markings identified in the pictures. I then came across another website for the sale of Doberman puppies and found the same wording, verbatim, on this other website. At this point it was confirmed that I had been scammed. I emailed Thomas, as well as the original Zelle payee, and advised I was aware of the scam and wanted my money back. I have not heard anything back from either person. I attempted to have my bank recover the funds, but they said this is not possible via Zelle transactions.
