To whom it may concern,
My name is **** *******.
I am looking to report a puppy scam with the company known as Dolly Maltese Pups. The website is direct as https://dollymaltesepups.com. They are reported to be based out in Denver, Colorado. I searched their site this past weekend, in the hopes of finding a puppy like the one I lost. I paid them a total of $750, which included the purchase cost $650 and the shipping $150. They were excellent with their correspondence, which is the reason that they were able to gain my trust. We spoke both through text messages and by email but seemed to have a disconnect of communication. They advised us that the payment process would be done directly to them, and no third-party agencies. They accepted the money, and then sent us a contract to sign/date and scan back to them.
In the contract they provided a health guarantee, a right to recovery, and terms and conditions of the adoption process. Once I signed the agreement, they advised that an email for shipping instructions would be sent later that same day. I received the shipping instructions from a Sky Pet Movers Air Cargo Worldwide advising that they had the puppy, but due to weather conditions will need additional funds to purchase a carrier to transport the puppy. The additional fees were read as $1520.00 for a normal crate, $1600.00 for an air-conditioned crate, or $1800.00 for a heated-air-conditioned crate to ship the puppy. We were not advised that there would be an additional shipping fee by the original seller. My daughter called the number listed under Sky Pet Movers, 1-973-638-6650, and they advised that they not ship the puppy without the additional funds. My daughter offered to pick the puppy up from the airport at their location, but they refused the offer. I then attempted to contact the seller to advise of the situation, and they reported not having any knowledge of the events. But would contact the shipping agency as soon as possible. Later that day I contacted the shipping company to ask if they heard from the seller, or if we could obtain the animal by another means. They demanded we pay the additional fee, or they would kill the puppy at our expense. After a debate between my family and the agency they decided to end the call.
Please we are requesting our money back from Maltese Puppy Breeders organization and criminal charges to be filed against them.
