This happened in October 2024. I got a call from the "sheriff" that I missed jury duty and in an angry and interrogative way asked me to explain why I didn't show up. I said I didn't receive a summons. He said I received one and it was signed for with my signature. I told him that was weird because I've received jury summons before, and they've never required a signature. He asked if someone else could have signed for it and not told me. I said no. I said, this seems scammy, can you prove you are who you say you are? He told me to google the phone number. I told him I knew that could be faked and asked what else he could do. Then he hung up. I never got to the part where he was going to tell me I had a fine and how to pay it, but I imagine that is where he was going next. I called the sheriff's office after that and asked who I could talk to check if I missed jury duty. The lady told me they don't call people about missed jury duty and told me it was a scam, and they were probably trying to get money from me somehow.
