This is the first email I received, so I set up the hangup and sent a message got a response pretty quick, considering they are in "New Zealand" I thought that was pretty quick since they were in the early morning hours like 2:00 am.
I had a very short conversation with the subject via messaging, at which time he hired me and told me that I would be receiving an Apple Laptop and a check to purchase software and materials to start my mini office with them. I found it odd that he never asked me if I had internet service or a firewall or anything else. The biggest concern they had was sending me a check and depositing it into my account and he would instruct me on how to purchase the items, which I asked several questions and he would not answer me. I told him that my bank informed me they would not accept a 3rd party check from new Zealand, he replied saying they should with the company logo. I told him that how am i so start training on Monday, which is 2 business days away and I haven't even set up the "mini Office", once again he ignored me.
One part of the conversation:
"The company will provide you a free Apple laptop with a fast internet connection and your W-4 form will be coming along with the working materials you need to start working with.
You will get started with work as soon as your working materials and soft-wares are available, The working materials are the major equipment that you will be needing to set up a Mini-Office with.. The working materials/equipment includes all wooden materials, machines .. The Wooden materials are the Office chair and table and office cabinet as well if need be for it, etc... Do you understand ?
Here are the name's of the software's you will need to start working with My job business essentials software 2017, US Patent Single Users Pack simply accounting 2017, Apple Final Cut Express 3.5 HD Upgrade, Norton Ghost 9.0, Microsoft Office XP 2017 Standard Upgrade, Peach tree Premium Accounting 2017.
Your training supervisor need you to get these programs ready to enable you work accurate with him or her.
Are you familiar with any of the software's.?
Alright..The funds for the software/working materials will be provided for you by the company via check, Make sure you use them as instructed for the software and i will refer you to the vendor you are to purchase them from.. Understood.?
You will be receiving the check for the purchase of your working materials. Once you receive the check you are needed to have the check deposited into your bank account and once the funds are available in your account, You are to deduct $200.00 as your sign on bonus and the rest of the funds in your account will be for the purchase of your working software's. I will be here to refer you to the vendor whom you will be making the purchase from. Do you understand this part.?
I am so sorry to inform you that the Package was not Shipped out to you yesterday because the accounting department was having a problem with FedEx but it has been resolved so they will start the shipment today and i believe you will receive it tomorrow and I will be here to provide you with the tracking number to the package.."
That last message made me even more suspicious when I began the search on this site BBB, I also emailed the company from their website I found online to their HR department and I got rejected stating they only receive emails from employees who currently work there already, I emailed Zip recruiter as well.
I also find it odd that I can send messages to this man anytime of the day.
