Advertised on Face Book for construction services. Met with him to show him what was wanted and where. Ask him if he was licensed and insured and he said yes. He drew up a "contract" describing what he would do and the price. Slow ordering material for the job. Very slow showing up for job. When he did finally come, he started working but there were obvious mistakes being made. We were told they would be fixed. Asked to see his license and insurance several times but he always "forgot"' them. When he said he was finished, I went through and told him everything that was wrong and unacceptable. Posts cut incorrect length, spindles cut incorrectly, gutters removed and not replaced. Roof joists exposed. Floor joist left exposed. Complete mess in the back of our yard. Large (6x6) hunks of wood cut crooked and placed on top of posts that was measured and cut incorrectly. Gates installed would not fit opening or was dragging across deck because he had taken the hinges beat them around the corner of 6x6 posts. Some spindles put on sideways. Used already existing lumber from old deck. I immediately called someone to come and fix the exposed roof joists since it would have leaked very badly in to my house and on my ceiling. Had gutters fixed since he had left them to where when it rained it would pool underneath my deck and up against foundation of my home. Decking not secured by nails or screws. Hid gutter he was supposed to put up on front of new deck roof behind the AC Unit and very large plant. I ask for compensation for the very poor quality of work and things being incorrectly done and he refused. I kept asking him to fix the things and he said because I had someone fix the exposed roof joists, that I had voided his guarantee. Repeatedly ask for proof of license and insurance and he would not provide them. Upon checking with the Department of Insurance & Commerce and checking the county in which his business is based, no record can be found of him being licensed and insured. Then he took pictures of my home, without my consent, and posted it on his Face Book page and in a group advertising services. He took very distant pictures so the errors could not be seen. I posted on Face Book, what had happened and also posted pictures of the work. Other people that had used him, started sharing what he had done to their homes when they hired him. Outstanding warrants, prior incarceration. drug use. No valid TN Drivers License and no proof of valid Building License or Insurance Coverage. He is a con man that is taking people's money.
