Was contacted by email after applying for a remote part time position. Was asked to take photos of my license as well as me holding my license to verify my identity and upload it to their website which I was given a employee identification number for. I was then asked for my address and email address associated with my paypal so they could send me money to convert to crypto currency. I thought this odd and questioned it and was told the job would be as a wholeseller of crypto currency and that I would be paid off commission of the sales. I was instructed that a supervisor would be sending me money to convert to bitcoin. They provided a qr code for a digital wallet for my account creation at a local crypto currency ATM. I dont know what the next step would have been as I cut off communication but I assume it would have been to transfer the money back to them, and I'm almost sure the money I received was from a compromised paypal account.

I was looking for a work-at-home job and came across an position for Mail Handler Assistant. I replied and was informed to take a picture of me holding my drivers license and to make a copy and provide my address to send items to repackage once shipped to my address. I was told by email and by phone that packages would arrive in 5-7 days but received none. I called the number and a man would answer and every time, I asked for the woman in the email and he said she was not available. Every time I called that same man would answer the phone. I knew something wasn’t right. I later got another email for a position as an Account Manager for buying bitcoins. That’s when I responded to them and said I do not deal in bitcoins and asked is this a scam. The directions were to open a business account and buy bitcoins for clients and transfer money for bitcoins. The email and the man said if I wanted to make extra money I could do this too and I told him no. That’s when I knew that this company was a scam. To date I have not received any packages to ship. He kept saying I should receive some packages soon. I did this October 13, 2020 and now it’s November and still nothing. So I’m hoping I don’t get anything from this company. Now they have my address and a copy of my drivers license and me holding my license. I asked the man his name and he said Michael Higgins but his accent did not sound American. He was also rushing me off the phone and was not polite at all, another red flag. I had did research prior to accepting the agreement but did not find anything on this company until tonight I found information on Facebook about DoveParcel being a scam.
