Then man worked on fixing my printer, and then said it couldn’t be updated bc it was compromised by a hacker. So he was transferring me to their security department.
Upon which I was now speaking to a man who called himself Bruce Coleman. He said a hacker was attacking my network and we need to set up a trap. To do so we need to Venmo money to an acct. it didn’t work so he said he sees I have Zelle and we should set the trap up through Zelle.
I had to transfer $499 to a Tanmoy Mukherjee at [email protected].
He had me call chase and tell them it was for auto work. He said my phone was accessible to the hackers and if I told chase what we were doing the hackers would know and go underground while still having access to my information and accounts.
He then said they were in my Amazon account and had me buy a Xbox gift car for $60.
It was when he had me drive to the store to purchase a nike gift card for $500 tha I told him I couldn’t do that. I don’t have that kind of money.
He said multiple times that he would get fired if the money didn’t return to my account. Continued to say he works for HP.
I got scammed. I have not received the money back.
I’m also terrified of my computer since they had access to it when they were “fixing” it and “tracking hackers.”
