I was recently hired as a virtual assistant for Dr. Leroy Hood. I never met him, but do remote digital marketing for 2 other clients, so initially I thought nothing of the interaction. Upon further emailing, the scammer has said they would send a cashiers check, for me to deposit and then donate to a foster care, and a health science organization. I received the check in the mail, and immediacy was suspicious. I took it to the bank where it was from and they declared it fraudulent. I want to make sure that the ACTUAL Dr. Leroy Hood, is not being used and that the company who the check was from is not being used. I almost was a victim and am so grateful I trusted my intuition.
