- Lincoln, NE, USA

On July 13, 2018, visited a website called dreamcreatedo.com and ordered an Adrianna Papell dress which described as a “beaded, sequined dress, rose gold, size 12 from a website shown as originating from the UK. After making a payment, I received a confirmation email showing that my total charge would be 70.00 British Pounds and some change. Converted to American Dollars, it was shown as being equivalent to US$96.48 in the confirmation email.

On July 30, 2018, I received my order in the mail and immediately noticed the following inconsistencies:

1. My debit card was actually charged $116.84 plus $2.33 in “international charges”, which is more than $20.00 from the estimated amount after conversion.

2. The package arrived from China, not the UK.

3. The dress was diametrically different from the one pictured on the website: the dress I received in the mail was a lace dress (not beaded sequine); blush pink (not rose gold), no size mentioned but I could not fit into it (not a size 12), and the shoulder style was different. The dress also had no brand name tags, no size mentioned, except for tags in Chinese writing.

4. The dress also did not look brand new. It looked like it had be worn and it had a very strong factory odor to it.

5. I immediately emailed “Chris Y” who was the customer service rep who’d email me the original purchase confirmation. He did not email me back on July 30, 2018 or the 31st. I emailed “Chris” again on July 31, 2018 and there was no response. So I called the Chinese phone number on the address label affixed to their envelope. The number rang but no one picked up and it would just cutoff. I tried calling the number several times over the next two days, with no response.

6. I left the country for a wedding and upon my return I noticed that Chris had sent an email response asking me send him pictures of the dress I received!

7. On September 12, 2018, I emailed Chris back with the pictures of the dress I received in the mail. Two days later, on September 14, 2018, he responded claiming that the courier may have picked up the wrong item! He never mentioned how he could actually replace the dress he sent with an Adrianna Papell dress! Instead he offered me a discount on my next purchase for my trouble. That immediately confirmed that he was running a website that was fraudulent and they did not carry any of the merchandise they described. There will be no next time because they operate a fraudulent website.

8. Since September 12, 2018, we’ve been emailing back and forth about how he should issue a full refund as I had to by a different dress for more money because of this transaction. He still has not offered me a full refund and it does not look like they ever will. I believe that I am a victim of a scam due to the fraudulent website that misrepresents their location, the products they carry and the amount of money they charge for their merchandise.

Please help me get my $116.84 plus $2.33 that were charged to my debit card of my hard-earned money. In addition, please protect American consumers from this website by taking it down so that noone else can be defrauded by them.

Thank you,

Bridget ***
