I received a text that my resume was reviewed on ziprecruiter. The contact congratulated me on receiving the job. Then they confirmed that I would receive a check by delivery to my address in order for me to purchase a laptop and office materials so that I may work from home and be paid $27 hourly. Too good to be true.

Was contacted by this “company” said they found my resume on ZipRecruiter and wanted to invite me to the next step in the interview process. Went through everything including filing out an application with the letterhead of the company they said they were. Said they were sending me a check to go buy the materials I’d need to work from home.

Said check was supposed to be delivered to my house and the reason i knew it was a scam was because the address it was from is a church, and the postal service note left at my door said I’d owe them $18.30 upon delivery
