An email comes to you from someone you know inviting you to view a pdf file through dropbox. When you click on the link, it asks you to sign into your email account, but you never go anywhere except that it tries to get you to setup a dropbox account. It then has access to your email contacts and sends out the same email to each of them. It even deletes everything in your "sent" box and your "trash" box to make sure you can't see who has gotten the email. It also sets up an auto reply from your email with another link, and your incoming emails are routed to your "RSS" feed so you can't see the emails of people asking you about the dropbox link.

Below is a copy of the email I received. I tried to open the "tabs or links" included, but none opened, so I copied the email address and sent them this message. I got no answers obviously!

If i do not receive a way to be removed from ALL my infos from YOUR DATABASE, and ANYONE ELSE that you are associated with, I will file a complaint with the appropriated services....

Hi ,
We’re always looking for new ways to improve how you create and work together using Dropbox. That’s why we recently launched several new productivity tools and sharing features. And there’s more to come. To support these changes, we’ve made a few updates to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Here’s a quick summary.
Privacy Shield. We’re excited to be certified under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework, and have updated our Privacy Policy to reflect this update.
Profile visibility. Dropbox may display some of your basic profile information (like your name and profile picture) when you’re collaborating with others.
Teammate and team discovery. Dropbox and Dropbox Business team names may be visible to users on the same company or organization domain. Team admins can disable this function. And in the future, this may allow us to help you find others on the same domain.
User terms. We’ve clarified terms like how you can cancel your account, and when you qualify for a refund. For users outside the U.S., we’ve also added information about how your country’s laws govern your Dropbox agreement.
You can read the full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which will go into effect on February 10, 2017. For more details, visit our Help Center or send a message to [email protected].
