- Rochester, NY, USA

I assumed I could trust companies listed on your site. AR from Dry Bottoms Masonry came 5/3/23 to give us a quote on power washing and fixing cracks in our bricks out back. His phone number is (585) XXX-XXX and his email is [email protected]. He said it would be $750 and he needed half up front, preferably cash but would accept a check sent to his fiance's house (DV Rochester NY 14626). We paid $375 on 5/17/23 and at this point he said he had booked up quite a few jobs from Angi.com and wouldn't be able to do it for a month or so. On 5/23/23 Angel said he needs 2-3 weeks from the time he gets our check in the mail to do the job. I followed up on 7/7/23 asking where we were in the queue for this job. He said he was short-handed one guy all month and the weather delayed him. He said he still had us in his calendar to get our job done. He said hopefully in the next couple of weeks he could have it completed and assured us he did not forget about us, we are in his "official calendar". On 7/27/23 I followed up once more asking where we were in line to be completed. A said he is leaving the country 8/9-8/23 and his goal was to have it done before then. He said he is down basically to one and a half employees from 4 so everything is backed up but he has us on his schedule still. On 8/24 I asked to cancel this job and get a refund. A said he was going to do our job soon actually but he is so busy that he understands and asked how he can give us the $375 back. He said he did not have an exact date but he could try to get it done in the next 7-10 days or else he would be happy to give us our full money back. On 9/29 I confirmed we wanted to be refunded. I followed up on 9/7 asking if he got a chance to send out our check yet. A said he mailed it out over a week ago. On 9/25 I told Angel we still did not receive our refund to which he has never replied. This business should not be on your site. It is a scam. After reaching out to A again yesterday, not getting our refund in a month, here is his reply: "Lol. ??

First of all I'm not a thief and I never stolen anyone's money. I mailed that little a*% check out over a month ago. It has not been cashed so I don't know what happened to it.

Second of all you don't know me enough to call me a thief. If you guys have a problem with me you can call me on the phone not over an email.

I have people hand me over $10,000 checks and I don't steal from them.

If one of you has been more cash app I will send you the 350 bucks right now. I don't need to steal from anybody especially 350 bucks.

Like I said if you guys have a problem with me I'll come up there in person and hand you $350 in cash. Cuz I'm not a thief and I don't appreciate the email.

So learn how to speak like a professional and have manners before you accuse people.

So you tell me how you want your little $350?

Cash app, Venmo oh like I said I'll come up there tomorrow or Thursday and give you $350 in cash. Cuz again I'm not a thief it's not my fault you didn't receive the check that I mailed out way over a month ago." Very professional as you can tell. A is on fire so here is 2 more emails he is shooting off.

Well you and Angie.com can kiss my a%^. Cuz I have never in my life taken anyone's money.

I got a few bad reviews because not every job is perfect. But if you're referring to taking someone's money then you or Angie.com are lying.

But if you want to talk about reviews and bad word of mouth. I've heard plenty of bad things about you guys selling [censored]amp; equipment. So I guess we all have faults as companies don't we lol. I'm doing great with my company I don't need to steal 375 from someone. But you guys must be doing really bad if you are really stressing out something I can lose between my couch cushions lol.

And I'll say it again Your bedside manner and your professionalism is horrible lol.

Calling people thieves and accused them of being scammers That's your strategy to get money back? You really need to be retrained or find another profession because this is not for you.

And since you're accusing me of being a scammer now if you want your money take me to small claims. I'll gladly give it to you but since you want to accuse me of being something I'm not then eat your words. You can tell your boss that first of all I never asked you to send me the money up front. You did that on your own and now you can explain to him how your horrible professionalism is going to force him to go to court to get his little bit of money back.

I'll see you that small claims. And it's not about the money at this point someone needs to teach you a little spoiled [censored] a lesson on how to speak professionally and actually act like an adult.

And again that shows how horrible you are at your job. Because if I was a "scammer" as you are claiming I am. Which is total bull#%^. You should have done your homework before you hand money out. You are welcome again for the life lesson.
