I reached out to Dawn ******* (or also known as Dawn *******), who posted a mini dachshund on Hoobly.com. She emailed me pictures of her puppies and I selected my guy and paid the deposit through PayPal. I asked her about the different names and she said it was due to marriage. We maintained contact for a little over a month. On the day that I was supposed to get the puppy, she quit responding and did not answer calls or text messages. I am so distraught. I already bought all of the items needed for my new family member- bowl, toys, food, collar, leash, etc. It such a heartbreaking incident that losing over $400 didn't upset as much as the scam of losing the guy I bought in the pictures. Please please please be careful of this scam artist.
