Someone from DTV called my 81 yo mother with severe cognitive dysfunction, and got her to authorize pay for the scam services. Subsequently, mom has been writing checks every month to “discount services”. In total, she has paid in excess of $1300 for services not received

James with DTV Access Services called my 86 year old mother, (who thinks everyone can be trusted), to ask if her Spectrum TV is working properly. He told her he could upgrade her box for a fee. A charge of $295.47 was withdrawn from her checking account. When I called James to inquire I asked specifically how they would upgrade her Spectrum box. He told me remotely. I asked specifically if they had permission from Spectrum to upgrade the box. His answer was "yes". After a call to Spectrum they told me it was a scam. Since then, James rejected my call. My mother is on a fixed income and needless to say, I am livid.
