I purchased a ticket to a crab festival held by the Dungeness crab association. These events were taking place all over the country. I thought I was buying a ticket for the one in DC on March 12, 2016. I went to update my ticket and the website could not be found, the URL and no information. It appears as if they have promoted these events all over the country and they are all fake events.

My mother and I found a crab festival that was supposed to be held today on Market Street only to come to find out that we got scammed. I would like to send you a link. We are just trying to make it go viral. So no one else gets scammed. Hot Garlic Crab Philadelphia

Dungeness Crab Association has claimed they had several crab festivals in multiple locations. But no events were actually held nor refunds issued. Tickets were purchased through Groupon and the company's site. Advertising was done via radio, Facebook and groupon. Tickets ranged from $49 - $699. Phone contact was not possible but they may email you to confirm the event. Many learned of this scam once they got to the "scheduled event" only to see there it is a constructing site or a note stating the event was canceled!
