Social Security Name Change E-Package

I had just gotten approved by the court to get my father's last name added to my name last July and googled social security offices to receive a new card. This company popped up in my search engine and I contacted them via email. I sent them $37 for the e-Package using my debit card (which I no longer use). I contacted them a few times to request a refund and they said they can't provide a refund and the process was taking longer than expected due to Covid-19. I contacted them from last year when I noticed things were taking too long. I also contacted them this year, and on Friday, July 1st of this year and they mentioned that a representative will contact me in 1 business day. I wish I would have read the reviews before sending them my money.

I thought the website was safe since all the the ss office are closed. I filled out all the questions they asked me but in the end I didn’t pay because I wasn’t sure why they were asking me to pay. But I am very scared because I gave them all the information. Are they going doing to do something with the information I gave now? I am currently calling the social security right now.

I was trying to apply a social security card for my child and paid $39 fee and submitted. The sun of both parents, names, and address were given away. I was going to send out the documents, but then I was alerted and found many people are complaining here. I really worry about the ss numbers!

Looked legit so I followed the forms and gave info such as my ss number and names etc. When I got to the end they wanted $39 to email a packet? Immediate red flag and I got out immediately. I sent no money and quickly realized that this is not a legit government site.

I am concerned mainly about the info I supplied and about identity theft.

Why are there no disclaimers required? Very dangerous site!

PLEASE NOTE - I went to the REAL ssa.gov and they DO NOT CHARGE to replace a social security card... and you can request it online in seconds and get in 7 to 10 days. You do not need a "packet" or mail them anything nor pay them anything. --vabutter

Gave them a ID THAT WAS EXPIRED along with a birth certificate and also paid 97$ I called over and over to get a refund and and argued that it was to late. I haven’t gotten any of my documents back. I call sso to see if they received it and they didn’t know what I was talking about. So I called usps I cause it said they did and the social worker said they are not even affiliated with them. And that they don’t do third party’s. So now I’ve lost an old id along with a birth certificate. Terrible service as well I argued to talk his supervisor and he wasn’t having it

I sent in a lot of documents for my daughter to get her social security card and I have not received anything and this would be her initial social security card. How do I go about getting all those documents back and stop them before it's too late. I didn't pay anything but my grandparents did and they won't get their money back and we won't get our documents back until someone can stop them. Please if anyone has any info please let me know.

I was a need to replace my Social Security card provided by New York State I typed it in the Google search click the first one that popped up assume that it was government official paid almost $100 for the the preparation Social Security application no mail needed apparently I got the form most of my information filled out. I had a LifeLock check after I felt I’ve been scammed in four different accounts and open my Social Security I am a victim of identity theft there has to be some type of lawsuit a loophole to where these people shouldn’t be able to make a buck off of applying for a free document because were eager and click the first one available I am fine on a criminal lawsuit this is fraud impersonation and identity theft

I was needing to get a replacement social security card for my daughter and this was the firsr site that popped up and without thinking I went and ordered a package for $97 to get a new card. I sent in her birth certificate, school records, my driver's lisence, her hospital records and everything they needed around April 7th 2021. I have not received anything. Not my documents I sent in and not her social security card. I'm very concerned that something like stolen identity could happen with this. My daughter is 8. She doesn't need to deal with this. I really just want my items back and whoever this scammer is to be caught. I've never dealt with something like this before. So I really don't know what to do.
