Company contacted elderly woman and managed to make an appointment to come to the house. Health aide answered the door and did not want to let them in. They said there were code violations and managed to get access to the homeowner. Cleaned chimney for $55, then told homeowner that chimney had damage that needed repair including a new chimney crown and repointing bricks. Charged $2,090 for work and was there about an hour. Elderly woman was asked to make check to the workers personally to get a 10% discount. She wrote a check to the company and when I visited the woman they showed me the invoice. I suspected a problem and stopped payment on the check. I then arranged for a company to inspect the work and they reported that a new chimney crown was not installed and the brick pointing was a smear of a substance that appeared to be epoxy to make it look like something was done. They actually caused damage. I called them several times and when they called back got private lines or a number showing from Seattle Washington. Also spoke to repair guy who threatened me.
