I kept having them tell me they need to verify the information etc long story short I lost 1700 dollars. They continue to try and contact me to tell me in order to get a refund I need to down load an app that basically lets them access to bank info etc

I was trying to reach eBay for assistance. I called a phone number. 801-794-5256. I don't know where I got this phone number. I thought I was calling eBay. Claim to be with eBay. When I called a man wanted me to download apps to get control of my computer. I did not download the apps. He also wanted me to go to Walmart and get an eBay card for $100. I did not send any money. Somehow they got control of my computer. I think that was their intention from the beginning. I gave my name and email. They also called me from this phone number.

We found a golf cart for sale on market place, contacted the seller for information by email. eBay was the contracted seller/buyer for the seller.

ebay contacted us for payment for the golf cart - which we did. Once payment was submitted to eBay, the seller and eBay would not respond to our communication

I also tried to contact eBay to complain, but you have to submit a credit card in order to talk to their customer service reps. Strange???

I called the eBay customer service for a refund dispute. I searched “call eBay” and this website popped up. I didn’t notice it wasn’t an eBay website after I clicked the link. Representatives act like they are associated with eBay. He asked me to download apps quick support and cash app which allowed him to view my phone. He was upset I only linked an account with less than 100$ and then disconnected the call.

Was looking for RV on facebook marketplace. Contacted seller who said she lost her husband..and was selling it to get rid of it. She said Ebay was going to be the vendor so I contacted them. They gave me all the correct information including VIN number. EBAY said they would deliver to my house as part of promotion. I called their number several times... voicemail was thanks for calling ebay. Sent emails back and forth. My mistake was they said I should gift cards for payment from ebay...wasn't thinking and I did...big mistake...email address they used was [email protected].

And they created a replica ebay email .awful....never pay until you receive. They also used Facebook Marketplace with legit 3rd party vendors. Email address used was [email protected]...

I inquired about a 2009 Casita trailer, I got an email from [email protected] requesting $800 in ebay gift cards, I sent them 4 ebay gift cards at $200 each to start the transaction of the purchase, then ebay seller indicated the 2009 Casita was sold at undervalue, and $800 more was needed for insurance, I sent 4 more ebay gift cards at $200 each, after they got the $1600 in ebay gift cards from me, suddenly contact was halted from the seller side. When I notified ebay about it, and gave them the redemption codes to these 8 ebay gift cards to freeze these cards, and to trace the tracking numbers, they indicated the could not do that, I had to call 3 times and hopefully the freeze was finally put on the cards for tracking purposes. I need to have the $1600 refunded to me from ebay, since they will be the ones to benefit from the scam, I feel if they do not refund my $1600 they are allowing scammers to use them for scamming innocent victims.

The scammer was first contacted by email, she was saleing a truck. I asked about price because it seemed a little low and she claimed she was military that her husband passed away two months ago and that it was his truck. She was leaving with her medical team and was going to be gone for a year and did not want to pay to store it and for ins while she was gone so she was just trying to get rid of it fast. She asked for shipping info and said eBay would be in contact with us shortly. Not long after eBay contacted us by email we had to pay by gift card and the payment was going to be held until delivery.

my Son and his friend were looking to perches a motorcycle. they seen and add on

per the person sealing it Rebecca Puckett she told them that she will like to use EBAY re the payment and that she will set this up for them. They received en email that they need to pay by Ebay gift cards. Each boy perches a 600 dollars card. on the order number form Ebay it gave them a number 1818-921-4841. they call the number and have the gift cards number. two days letter the got an other eamil asking to call and pay a insurance for the shipment and that they will give them the money back after they deliver. This is when it gave them a red flag.

i did call ebay and try see if they can help us. But because this was not perches thru there web side they will not help.
