eBay Motor Vehicle scam - My boyfriend found a 2007 Acura MDX on Facebook. She said she wants to get rid of the car for $1,200 because her son died in a motorcycle accident, she was grieving and had moved to FL. We did everything she asked us to do - we bought 6 eBay Gift Cards from Walgreens on Broad and Haag Ave in Columbus. The clerk would only let me buy 3 cards, so her boyfriend went in and bought 3 cards. Then we got an email from [email protected] saying: "Dear @#$%^&*, we have to inform you there is an issue regarding your shipment. The shipping process of your item was stopped during the shipping process because your product is not insured there are two insurances for the item first insurance for the 5 day inspection period when the item is at your place for the inspection and another insurance for the transportation the seller paid for both of them but sine the item was valued by our dept by more then the price you agreed with the seller you need to make a deposit fully refundable of $1,000 because the item was undervalued since the insurance the seller paid did not cover the new insurance that we need in order to continue with the delivery the shipping process is on hold the trailer that was transporting your item is also transporting two products the other buyer has paid the insurance of their item so we are waiting for you to make a deposit of the insurance the cost of the insurance is $1,000 you will receive the payment $1,000 along with the item in full because the deposit of the insurance is fully refundable we hope that you understand that it is very important to insure the item during the transportation you need to complete the payment using the same payment method eBay cards we are waiting for your payment confirmation as soon as possible so the shipping process can continue once again you will receive your money back when you will receive the item we truly apologize for any inconvenience sincerely eBay Motors Vehicle Protection Program"

My middle child has seizures and I needed a reliable car to go to the doctors every week. My grandma told me not to do it, but I did it anyway.
