My husband & I found a car advertised on Craigslist and contacted the seller via email. We were not able to meet the buyer, she said she was in the millitary and on base. She also said she was in an eBay Purchase Protection Plan that guaranteed satisfaction & refund if not satisfied with the car. A second individual emailed us an invoice wiht an eBay logo on it stating they were from the Purchase Protection Plan. They then required we pay for the car using eBay gift cards, and to email them the card numbers. The car was then to be shipped. However, after they received the payment, they wanted an additional $1,000 "security" money. We then searched the sellers email address online and saw ti associated to other scams. Craigslist still has the bogus car listed.
