Saw an advertisement for a blue parrot called an Eclectus on Breeder’s website:
https://electrus.company.com/
https://electrus.company.com/available-birds.html
This company is supposedly located: Robert Perkins, 6144 Robertson Ave, Newark CA, (408) 658-0179, electrusbirds2gmail.com
Informed Breeder through email string that I was interested in purchasing a bird named Ollie.
They then asked for background information on myself (under the ruse of discovering if I could take care of the animal).
They sent me a contract to fill out and return with details about myself.
They agreed I was qualified.
I paid $1,550 for the bird and shipping via Zelle to Robert Perkins ([email protected])
We discussed a date for delivery of the bird on Saturday May 30, 2020
Breeder then said: they would work on paperwork and registration.
Breeder then said: the bird needed to be seen by his vet on Sunday May 31st so delivery would be Monday June 1, 2020 in the evening.
Breeder then said: delivery agency will contact you with the complete delivery details before the flight takes off.
Received email from “United Ship Service (USS)” or “[email protected]” (580)370-7420
Tuesday June 2, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. with a tracking number.
The bird breeder (Robert Perkins) called at 11:12 to confirm that I got an email from the company that would ship the bird.
I received a second email at 11:30 a.m. from “United Ship Service (USS)”. I later noticed discrepancies. On website they were called “Parcelworldwideexpress.com” (https://parcelworldwideexpress.com/track-your-shipment/) or email from “[email protected]”
Email stated, Need to pay additional funds of: $1,575 (for cage rental, vaccines, and insurance fees) for shipping my “kitten” (occassionally in this email string they got it correct that it was a bird).
Note: after researching I discovered that the pictures of the blue Eclectus Parrot on the webpage are not accurate. They switch the male and females pictures. A true breeder would get this right. In addition, I did a Google image search and the pictures come from other owners or breeders.
Breeder is a scam. Shipping service is a scam.
this same thing happen to me.
I lost $1,500.
i should of research this company.
