same as others, buyer interested in my car on craiglist, was persistent they only accepted a report from insuranceclaimsverifier.com, I did it and in paypal the bill came from a company called "ecomax", shocker. buyer is delaying now so i am sure they got what they came for, my 25 bucks and a look at my other information. I got the initial text from 248-270-8731 and a guy saying his name was todd.

I had a car posted on offer up and was contacted by a Vincent who wanted to purchase it. It eventually got to the point where the scammer wanted me to provide a VIN check report from instantvinchecks.com. Once you go through this, it will lead to a paypal link and that's where they steal your money. The report comes back in a pdf and I believe downloads malware. Their website looks extremely professional, it's not so difficult to fall victim to this. His number is 1(503) 342-4264.

My truck was listed on craigslist and I received a test about wanting to buy it. He said he was Alex and was really interested in it and wanted to see th e PVR report... premium vehicle report and carfax. He stated he knew more about the PVR report. I paid 33.99 for it and sent it to him. He said he was from Eugene Oregon about 2 hours away and would come to see the truck the next day at 11am. Never heard anything after that l. No response to text or phone call

This is a con operation hitting craigslist ads like mine, they lie posing as legitimate car buyers and trick you into getting this car report or else they will not come see the car.
I see others who were scammed as well and had the same problem and PayPal refunded them:
http://callercheck.org/phonenumber/6139274115
I asked PayPal for full refund as I have other car proof reports that this scammer would not accept, he wanted a report only from vehiclefact.com
Why has PayPal not shutdown this scamming company yet? Eco Max [email protected]
