Type of a scam Rental
When I arrived to pick up the car rental at the airport, there was a long line of over 50 people. Zero people were served in an 80 minute wait. There was growing anger as people realized that if you didn't arrive with printed proof of your car insurance coverage, you had to use Economy's insurance, which cost more than the car rental (changing the rental from $110 to $280). They wouldn't process refunds. Additionally, they didn't seem to even have cars to give the people that were willing to pay the exorbitant hidden fees. The employees refused to talk to the customers at all, standing in silence behind the counter.
After 2 hours with no movement in the line (and more people arriving on buses), I left to rent elsewhere. It was cheaper to rent a car from Enterprise and still pay for the rental with Economy that I didn't use than it was to rent with Economy and pay their crazy hidden fees.
Worse, after using Economy, my identity was stolen. Charges were made to my card overseas and in Maryland (a state I was not in). I know the security problem was from Economy because I made the reservation on my card and everything else was on my husband's card.
Economy is leveraging Priceline's system knowing it is impossible for you to get out and they can keep the money. Priceline is making matters worse because they won't help. They hung up on me saying the case was closed. Then I tried chat and the bot wouldn't let me through to a person.
