Received a call call from a company claiming to be a credit card service company and offering to get all my interest rates reduced on my various credit cards. I foolishly listened to their speel and agreed to their service at a rate of $199.20 for five (5) months. After speaking with my friend that lives in my same apartment complex, she advised me that this was a scam and I should contact my bank and put a stop payment on the automatic debit. The bank could not return the first payment because too much time had elapsed but I was able to get the second payment stopped. I am writing this so you can alert other people (especially the elderly and those who are prone to accept all kinds of calls) so they do not get taken like me. I lost $199.20 plus $32.00 for a return item charge and that is a huge amount especially when you live on Social Security. Thank you,

They called me from 855-563-4431 and told me that they could reduce my interest rates to 6% or less. They were telling me about a credit card that I do have they gave me the last four digits of the card, and they wanted me to give the rest of number, and I challenged them. I was on the phone with them for quite awhile. Another man got on spoke better English, I gave them the information unfortunately, since I figured they had my information, I don't know normally do that. He called other businesses that I had credit cards with to see if there were any specials or if I was late on any of the payments, they were trying to reduce the payments in that aspect everything sounded legit. Then they set up appointment to start with the Sears company, and then it didn't sound right, and I wanted to opt out, and I haven't been able to. One of the managers or it sounded like was Bill. The one I was always talking to was Indian and his first name was Joe (I received a call from another company Credit Card Counselors or something like that, I didn't answer the call and his name was Joe, he was Indian, he sounded just like the same guy). The first payment was due in August so a month prior to in July is when they gave me a call. Signing was on July 5th. I tried to get out and revoked on a few payments $223.50 each monthly payment, it would be four payments total. They took out September payment and broke own contract, I called to opt out on time, they said they put in the mailbox to the bank already because of a holiday. They sent me a credit card, and the idea was I use that credit card to pay off that credit card to reduce down to 0, I didn't authorize that one it was CapitalOne, and I didn't do it because it wasn't a year, 0 for 9 months then it jumped up to 25%, I never authorized it, and I called them and they wouldn't authorize it without a bunch of information because it could have been a fraud thing. I hadn't called back to make an appointment, obviously I have to be on the phone with them to authorize anything, it was going to be a three party conference call. When I called there the last time to stop payment, I talked to a manager, I don't remember her name. She said that they had called me multiple times, which they hadn't they hadn't left a message. She was at the department where they take the money.

The company called me and was not forthcoming as to who they were exactly. I was under the impression it was my credit card company offering a lower rate. It was after being passed along to the 3rd person that I realized it was a separate company. I expressed that I was not comfortable going forward with their service. They were strong arming me saying that I had verbally agreed and have a recording of me agreeing. I replied that I thought I was confirming their offer and not authorizing it. They said I had to do it. I expressed I wanted to cancel it. They said that they couldn't and would then charge me the fee of $796 and it would need to be paid automatically from my checking account. I replied that I as not comfortable with that and protested it and firmly said again I want to cancel. Their response would be that it would then be sent to a collection agency. After being on the phone with them for almost 2 hours and getting no where, despite my urgent pleas to cancel, I hang up. If they are correct that $796 will go to a collection agency, I feel this is not right as I was not in agreement with the service they were offering.

I receive a phone call from this company in regards trying lower my interest rate for my Navy Federal Visa credit card to 6.99% APR. I was unaware in order for this to happen they open an Capital One credit card without my authorize and want me to use it to pay off my Navy Federal Visa credit card. I was also informed for their service they will charge me $796.00. I have closed all account information provided, open up different accounts, and notify the companies of this being a scam. I also have place fraud alerts with the 3 major credit bureaus.
