I WAS USING THE COMPUTER AND SUDDENLY A RED SCREEN WAS ON IT. AND I NOTICED THAT "MICROSOFT" SAID TO CALL THE TELEPHONE ABOVE. AND I DID AND THEY CHARGED $699.99. WHEN MY WIFE CAME BACK HOME AND SHE EXPLAINED TO ME WHAT HAPPEND, I FIGURED OUT THAT IT WAS A SCAM.. SO I CALLED THEM BACK TO CANCEL AND THEY NEVER DID, THEY OBVIOULSY WERE NOT FROM MICROSOFT.

May 13th, 2017 was browsing facebook in the morning when a pop-up screen appeared on my computer warning me I may have been infected with malware and to please call the 800 number listed below for immediate Microsoft Tech support. I called (unfortunately). The fee for lifetime support was $475.99 to install the software. I told them I didn't have that available but was talked into a post-dated transaction for May 23rd. After "wising up" and doing some research with the ScamPulse.com website, I called my bank and reported the transaction as fraud. I am hoping my bank will shut down the transaction before it gets taken out.

While I was on a website (Daily Caller) received a voice alert and a screen alert that my computer security had been compromised due to inadequate security on my new computer. Screen froze with a message purporting to be from Microsoft ("microsoft.com-msoft43.info") instructing me to call 844-739-3973. When I did the man that answered claimed to be a contractor for Microsoft security. He asked for access to my computer (which I foolishly gave him) and waled through my system showing me that the McAffee software had allowed over 1,000 infections. He claimed to remove "975" of them but said the remainder could only be removed if I purchased appropriate spyware which he claimed was Symantech Endpoint v. 12.1 which he claimed was correct for my Windows 10 OS. He then tried to get me to pay through an on-line check ("credit card info too risky until the new spyware installed") and offered to set me up with a "Level 5 technician" to install the spyware after I purchased it. At that point I told him I needed to inquire with my company's IT Dept and asked where I could call back. He gave me the number 855-335-4787, then exited my computer.

I was on my computer and all the sudden a message popped up and said I had a virus and to call a number. I called the number the guy with a strong Indian accent talked me into purchasing a 3 year anti-virus software. After speaking with my girlfriend about it, we decided it did not sound legit and I went to the bank to change my account information so they could not take the money out. This is a scam that makes you think you're getting an anti-virus software but in actuality they help you download a free anti-virus software and just take your money.
