Exactly what the previous victims have mentioned is what happened to me.
He is going by a different name and business name.
Fortunately, I had a gut feeling and looked into it before actually getting scammed.

E-Good Furniture Company, Edward Good - Graphic Design Scam

I received an email from "Edward Good" stating he found my business on Facebook and wanted a quote for a logo design and a 16 page booklet. He stated an $8000 project budget, including printing, and a project deadline of March 25 2023. He said he didn't have the assets for the booklet yet because they are tied up with his project manager, but wanted a full quote on the project so we could get started on the logo design. Also said his web developer was waiting on the logo so he didn't have a website up yet. All pretty reasonable; but I'm glad I looked into this.

Edward Good contacted me for freelance graphic design services for his online furniture company, E-GOOD Furniture. He requested a logo and brochure to be created. He signed a contract and agreed on the cost. Once the deposit ($4,000) was sent to me via check, he claimed his assistant sent too much and I needed to refund him immediately for the overage ($3,725). His check had not yet cleared and he requested I reimburse a small fraction ($200) of the money until the funds were available, via Zelle and CashApp. My bank contacted me before allowing the transaction and informed me of the Zelle scams. Once I alerted Edward that I could no longer complete the project and that the check was voided, he became rude and disgruntled. I then proceeded to block him from further contact.
