E&G Anderson Reports & Reviews (1)

- Richmond, VA, USA

I applied for a position on Zip recruiter for a Customer Service Representative. Within an hour of submitting the application I was emailed by the Human Resources Administrator requesting an interview. When I didn't respond to the email right away, within 30 minutes they were calling me requesting the interview. On the phone they were a little strange asking me if remember applying for the position (that I only applied to like 2 hours ago), I said yes and then they asked me when I wanted to come in for the interview. Usually employers will give you time slots and you can pick the times but no they said that anytime that was convenient for me was acceptable. So we scheduled the interview the day of the interview like 3 days after the initial contact they send out a reminder email, with step by step directions and a picture of the building where the interview would be held, also they asked me to bring money for street-side parking. So get the building and when I walk into the "office" (it did not look like a professional office with a slat curtain hiding boxes in the corner of the room. The thermostat in the office said that it was 80 degrees in there, I was greeted by the "secretary" who I later realized was the Human Resoures Administrator who talked to me on the phone. While I was waiting for the interview I noticed that the Human Resources Administrator was calling a scheduling interviews with other candidates using there names, phone numbers, addresses etc. for the same position that I was there to interview for. I am not an expert but it is extremely unprofessional to be speaking other candidates personal information over the phone with another candidate listening in a chair nearby. I was then waved into the interviewer office, she seated me a small old desk. One of the first things I noticed about her was that she was young maybe early 20s and clearly unprofessionally dressed. Her blouse was way to small and inappropriate parts of her skin were visible through her blouse. As the interview started she talked about what the business that they do marketing for other companies. She never asked me specific questions about why I was looking to work there. After about 5 minutes of her talking about all the opportunities and money that could be made I asked her how the money was made, she said that that they set up event booths and distribute smart phones to veterans and homeless people in the Richmond Area. You have the opportunity after a month or two to own a business just like E&G Anderson and you can begin recruiting others to work for you. Also you get 20% of new recruit sales and by the end of a year you could be making 500k a year. At this point I am thoroughly convinced that this is not a legit business opportunity. So I ask how long had she (the interviewer) had been with the company she said that she had been working for about 5 months and was in the next month going to become an owner of the company. So then I asked how does someone with so little experience was qualified to give this "interview" and own the business in under 6 months of employment (she mentioned her previous employment was as a teacher). She said that she is qualified because she was given "all the information" right up front and it was easy to get on the fast track to business ownership. Again I am no expert but this sounds like a scam and I feel sorry for anyone who actually falls for this.
