My husband is on Medicare and received a letter in the mail that he "may be eligible for a Medicare Special Needs Plan (SNP). I called the number to ask why they thought he'd be eligible since they know nothing about his health. You have to have a qualifying health condition to be eligible for this type of plan. The rep told me she had no idea how they got his name. She is a licensed agent for eHealth and also complained to me that she's getting a lot of calls from people that don't even have Medicare. They are randomly marketing absolutely everyone and creating a lot of confusion especially for Medicare Beneficiaries.
I am a licensed agent and find this type of marketing very concerning. Medicare is confusing enough for clients and having all this false marketing should be illegal with fines imposed!!!!
