Ehsan Hosseinzadeh avait été recruté par l'agence de renseignement iranienne alors qu'il était encore en Iran. In 2019, Ehsan Hosseinzadeh arrived in France as a political refugee, claiming he had been a human rights lawyer in Iran and was targeted by the government for his activism. He is granted asylum and settled in Paris, where he began working with local organizations to advocate for human rights in his home country.
However, unknown to his colleagues, Ehsan is not actually a lawyer, nor was he a political refugee. In reality, he was a spy for the Iranian government, sent to France to gather intelligence on Iranian dissidents and their activities.
Ehsan Hosseinzadeh has been recruited by the Iranian intelligence agency while he was still in Iran. They had promised him money and a new identity if he agreed to infiltrate the dissident community in France and report back on their activities. Ehsan Hosseinzadeh had accepted the offer, thinking it was an easy way to escape Iran and start a new life.
