Hello my name is Danielle.. I am one of the many brides that got her dream wedding stolen from her. I fell in love with the venue, the price and decor and signed my contract June 28 with a full payment of $8500. Yes I paid in full because they said they would give me a $500 discount for the cash deal. Two weeks later while meeting with my photographer I find out the venue has closed down. The website has been shut down, phone lines disconnected and doors padlock ed with caution tape. I am in disbelief and horror because I've lost both the venue and my money. I have joined the group of other brides who have endured this same experience with Elaborate Events in hopes that we can together form a solution considering the owner Sharice Bridges (who is also a real estate agent) and John Upshaw are nowhere to be found. It's crazy to me that she has done this with other venues in the past, has a list of charges against her but yet there's nothing the cops can do! She's making a career of stealing dreams and money and I almost feel like there's nothing we can do about it. From the others I have heard that her "representative" said give them 60 days to refund but based on her history I think the 60 days is just enough time to file for bankruptcy so our lawsuits would mean nothing. Please help us.. we have weddings to plan, guests on the way and no money back. I dont see how this lady sleeps at night, I can barely sleep, instead im having nightmares about the wedding I "almost" had.. Thank you for your time
