The site looked legitimate. I reached out to the “breeder” who seemed super cooperative at first, I even asked if I could come see the puppies he said yes of course but I realized I wouldn’t have time to do so I went ahead eight he purchase. After the purchase I got this shipping link to “keep track of my pet” and that too looked legit. But then as I looked the the sites nothing legitimate from this site showed that it was indeed this company. The company reached out to me on my phone a couple hours later saying I didn’t have the proper crate to ship him which was $650, a day later they tell he need a covid screening done and that’s $850, and now they said I didn’t have documentation, which didn’t make sense since the “breeder” had assured me of these documents being included. All in all, I told them I would not be paying for anything. If I can pick the dog up and we can settle this in person I’d consider it but if not then we’ll both be in our way. They haven’t reached back out. But I wanted to people who are searching for toy poodles specifically. This man goes by the name of Richard Owen.

My friend (12-17) and her mother (35-50) ordered a dog, from elegant poodle lover. They got into contact via email and messages, and information was exchanged. In the end, after recieving images of the confirmation of the existance of the dog (the white poodle on the website named Mac), they placed an order for the dog. Originally they payed 700USD for the dog, and an additional 800USD for shipping insurance. They expected to get the dog on 10/15/2020, but the dog never arrived. They contacted the seller after this, and the seller said to pay an extra 2000USD for more insurance, and refused to further send the dog. The purchase was made on Elegant Poodle Lover, and the home address of my friend and her mother was given to the seller. The monetary exchange occured over Zelle (zellepay.com).

I investigated the situation by contacting the seller, and the seller claims that the dog is still available. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that the purchase was in fact a scam, ending up with a loss of 1500USD.
