I foolishly responded to a text that was sent to me and 17 other #'s. The text was offering a payment of $700/week to drive around with a company's decal on your car. Coincidentally, I saw a woman in a station wagon, driving a car with a decal on it just the day before, so thought it was a legit advertisement. I told others about the text I received. After doing some more research, found out that it was a scam!

I did indeed receive a check delivered by FedEx to my home address. I now know not to deposit the check, but will be holding onto it if further investigation is needed. Had I moved forward to deposit the check, the scammers would have succeeded in committing identity theft of my account # and potentially social security # as well. Older people and/or those struggling financially need to beware and be wise!!
